Windows 10. Blah. I was going to do a WIP on the Red Brethren but Windows 10 is poo pooing that right now. Luckily I have some Adeptas Sororitas pictures available to me. Penitent Engines were a big draw for me to start an Adeptas Sororitas army back when the Witch Hunters codex was released. I have enjoyed using them in every codex update. They are terrible models to assemble though. They are made up of pewter and there is a lot of pinning that has to happen to make this model work.

Adepta Sororitas – Heavy Bolter Retributors
Retributors and heavy bolters are like peanut butter and jam. The two were destined to be together.
Space Marine Carcharodons- Red Brethren Terminators Part 2 WIP
Last Carcharodons post was a WIP for Assault Marines. I’m changing the schedule around a wee bit and finishing off the remaining 5 Assault Terminators for the Red Brethren.

2015 In Review
WordPress sent me a summary for what happened at the Roost in 2015. If you have time to waste why not have a wander. Most of my traffic has come from the Faeit 212 blogroll so thanks Natfka! Thanks everyone who have been regular guests to the Roost. It has been a pleasure so far and thank you for motivating me to keep going. Ruins of Arotha was my first follower and has been a steady visitor ever since. Springtime will be the hobby blogging anniversary so I plan on doing a review then.
Paraphrasing Canadian fitness gurus Hal Johnson and Joanne McLoed- Keep hobbying and have fun.

Adepta Sororitas- Battle Sisters Squad A
If I haven’t exercised I put some Adeptas Sororitas models in the case and do some squats. That’s putting the models to some good use until they get a new codex.
Space Marines Carcharodons- Assault Marines WIP
Right now my army is lacking mobility. I do not have any transports as my focus has been getting boots on the ground. Assault Marines are my temporary solution to the problem. This is my first WIP post for the Assault Marines.

Space Marines Carcharodons- Devastator Squad A
The Carcharodons thrive on close combat but sometimes they need a little help from their friends. My fire support relies on Devastator Centurions with grav cannons and this squad of missile launcher toting Devastators.

It’s been a while since I have updated my progress on the Games and Gears Hawk Urban Battle Board. I now have two tiles completed and here is how they look.

LotR- Mounted Arwen and Mount Nazgul
I have completed the Mounted Arwen and Mounted Nazgul chase for Christmas. These two models will be a present for my mother in-law. The Nazgul is a dark model so the highlights do not show up too well in the photos. I am really pleased with how Arwen turned out. There were a few layers that went into the horse.

Adepta Sororitas- Kicking It Old School
Today’s post was supposed to be a battle report between my Carcharodons and Will’s Blood Angels. The app received an update and I can’t export the video. Nuts! It was a fun game, probably the most enjoyable I’ve had this year. Battle reports, we don’t need no stinkin’ battle reports. It’s time to start showcasing my Adeptas Sororitas army.
Army Showcase- Aaron’s Carcharodons
Aaron and Predation Fleet Mako have emerged from the void to re-supply. While re-supplying he answering the vox transmission for Battle Brother Carcharodons to show their collection.

LotR- Mounted Arwen and Mounted Nazgul WIP
The Christmas presents for my father in-law and brother in-law were completed months ago and I am thankful I got a head start on those projects. I planned on painting Mounted Arwen being chasing by a Mounted Nazgul for my mother in-law. These two models are tiny compared to The Watcher In The Water and The Witchking On Fell Beast. Time to start painting.

Tyranids- Tim the Dimachaeron
Tim the Enchanter is done! My first Tim post was on April 7. I had some other projects to distract me along the way but come November 1, I was motivated to complete the beast. Now Tim needs some Tau to consume. For now Hector will do.

Roost 40K Video and Written Battle Report 014 – 1850 points Adepta Sororitas vs Khorne Daemonkin
Jarrod wanted to try his Khorne army against my Adeptas Sororitas and I was happy to oblige. I told Jarrod that I wanted to try the Repentant Host formation. A whole lot of mouth frothing Repentia charging into combat with some Flesh Hounds. Who came out on top?

LotR- Eowyn and Pippin Confront The Witch King
My wife is a big fan of Eowyn from the Lord of the Rings. It seemed like a good opportunity to paint Eowyn and Pippin confronting the Witch King. I painted these models around eight years ago. It’s good to see the progress I’ve taken over the years. I think I will touch up the highlights in the near future.

Army Showcase – Randy’s Carcharodons
Last week I sent out a vox transmission for Carcharodons Battle Brothers to emerge from the void. Randy answered that call.

Roost 40K Written Battle Report 013 – 1850 points Tyranids vs Blood Angels
Will and I wanted to try out Cities of Death. Will started collecting Blood Angels with the Shield of Baal: Deathstorm set so it seemed right to set them up against the Tyranids. Let’s see how the show went down.

Tyranids – Tim the Dimachaeron WIP Nov 18
It has been a few months since the last Tim the Enchanter WIP post. Summer and other projects got in the way. The Dimachaeron is a huge model and it is taking a long time to complete. Dreadtober and the Spawn of Cryptus distracted me for a little bit. I also painted the base colours on Captain Karlean from Shield of Baal: Deathstorm and the captain from the Forgeworld MkIV command set. But enough about those projects, this is supposed to be about Tim.

Remembrance Day – We Remember
… According to reports, in one 10-minute period on Omaha Beach, a single rifle company of 205 men lost 197, including every officer and sergeant. These were not pointless or avoidable deaths. The price was very high – but for that which they died was sacred. We remember. Their comrades in arms remember. And those who could, came back.
