It’s been a while since I have updated my progress on the Games and Gears Hawk Urban Battle Board. I now have two tiles completed and here is how they look.
Normally when a paint dries out I get frustrated. This time around I cheered when the Dawnstone pot dried up. It made it a lot easier to dry brush the board. Longbeard Grey was the final colour on the concrete. The brick also received some drybrush treatment. For the grass I took alternate shades of green and did some loose brush strokes.
I have four more tiles to complete. I will paint some more Carcharodons and use up the current pot of Dawnstone. Fingers crossed the paint will dry up and I will complete as many boards as possible.
Here are the comparable photos from the previous update.
I finally received the Games and Gears Anima Battle Boards. I’ll post a video review on that set eventually. The review is not favourable. I don’t think the boards were primed. It looks like it was shaded or inked on non-primed board with maybe a slight touch of drybrushing. For the Kickstarter price I find the product acceptable. For the retail price, take my advice and invest your money elsewhere. The Anima boards were available to the public in August and I got mine in November. The Battle Boards campaign has been a public relations nightmare filled with many empty promises. I purchased my two sets for less money compared to the retail price of one set advertised on the site.
