Mrs. Turkadactyl and I had a splendid 5th anniversary on the 15th. Events were planned all week leading up to the big day and I think we will remember the festivities for years to come. All the Camas staff participated with various roles that were needed to make the day a success with some filling multiple roles.

80’s Awareness Week
Mrs. Turkadactyl and I enjoyed a pleasant five year anniversary yesterday. We received a phone call from Mama Turkadactyl, wishing us a happy anniversary. It was exciting to receive phone call. I updated our contact info on the first post- The Roost of Turkadactyl. Mama Turkadactyl eliminated the correct numbers so if you want to call you should be able to reach us now. I will share about our theatrical wedding ceremony another day. I also have photo evidence.

The Stink Sink (Viewer Advisory Warning)
The hatches to the Stink Sink were popped open today. I took some photos for those who really want to see inside. This is where all the solid human waste goes. Once a month it gets raked and spread out to aid in the composting. In two years time the Stink sink will be emptied and used as fertilizer for the trees in the area. The biggest earthworms that I have ever seen guard the Stink Sink. Be warned the pictures are not pleasant. I know Keith will appreciate this research. I hope he checks in every once in a while.

Simple Things Please Simple Minds
Last night and this morning has been a peaceful time. The campers have gone to Iona for the night and those of us who have time off are enjoying the peace and quiet, and also fish. Jamie, one of the locals, came by for a visit and caught a Pollock in Camas Bay. It was enough to feed eight along with the pizza I made from scratch.

The Gaze of Turkadactyl
We have survived our first week of campers. The week turned out to be a good week. Apart from the whining about having to do chores it was a good week. The campers caught on quickly to my dry sense of humour, thankfully. They also loved my pterodactyl impression.

Keep Fit and Have Fun
We’re about halfway through our first week. Mrs. Turkadactyl and I enjoyed our day off today and it was great timing. It’s tough to catch up on sleep at a camp. I needed a day off to do precisely that. This week is Community Kid week. These particular campers have a parent or parents, aunt, uncle, or grandparent(s) who are part of the Iona community. Apparently it is Community Members week at Iona so the kids report to Camas.

And The Winner Is…
Name the Poopsmith’s Lair has come to an official close. The winner of the contest is Joey with his Stink Sink entry. I’ll try figure out a prize and how to get it to you Joey. I think Stink Sink will easily replace Aquatron.

The Bunessan Show Results
The Bunessan show has finished and I have seen enough rain to last a lifetime. There was morae than enough rain for Scot standards. I will hopefully upload photos when I get a hold of Dots camera. I did not bring mine because of the rain.

The Bunessan Show
So it appears that I have done a bit of binge posting over the last 24 hours. This is my fifth posting. Yesterday was a full day off and I have a half day off today. This week has been a labour intensive week. It is new members week. People who are applying to be part of the Iona community go through a lengthy process of becoming members. Part of the process is coming to Camas and we put them to work, as well as ourselves. I have walked a few miles collecting poop and wood.

The Moustache Letters- No Soup For You
Dear Mark,
I am deeply troubled over the recent soup drought that Edmonton is experiencing. I hope now that people do not take their soup for granted. There may be something that I can do from over here. You see we have soup for lunch just about every day. Alexander is a bit of a sloppy eater and I get quite wet at lunches. When we are done lunch I can send Alexander over to the water and I can have him strain me out. The soup should be able to reach you in 4-6 weeks.

Meet the Team
Last week we visited the tidal island of Erraid, located southwest of the Ross of Mull. Michelle led us in an activity where we grabbed a partner and constructed a portrait using items found on the beach. Dot and Amy were unable to join us that day.

Name the Poopsmith’s Lair Contest
To understand the context of this contest please read Poopsmith’s Batcave. Batman has his Batcave, Superman his Fortress of Solitude. The Poopsmith has a lair but it needs a name. So far it is called the Aquatron. That name is not worthy enough for the Poopsmith. Please leave your submission in the comments section. Enter as often as you like. No purchase necessary. Residents of Atlantis need not apply, that means you Aquaman. That is what you get for marrying a woman without gills. Contest closes Monday August 4, 11:59 MST. For more information on the Poopsmith please visit www.homestarrunner.com.

Poopsmith’s Batcave
We have had a good couple of days. Yesterday the whole team had a day off as well as this morning. I took the time to read the Bunnessan Show catalogue and have decided to enter in three categories. I will enter in the photography categories of Reflection and Rural Life. I am also going to enter in the cheese scone category. I started practicing today. They were good, but definitely not cheesy enough. the show is on the 1st of August so I have a few more days to practice. There is going to be sheep wrasslin’ at the show. that sounds exciting. People will also be bringing in there cattle and sheep to show off. This is what the locals do for fun.

Run To The Hills
For those who are interested this is the synopsis of our vacation time in Scotland. My parents and Melissa Teal spent some time with us at the airport until our departure with fate. Captain Candy paid us a visit in Edmonton International. His super power is the ability to make various candy coated apples. Since I am allergic to raw apples I was unable to taste his super abilities but they sure did look good. Captain Candy’s secret identity is Phil. Please keep that a secret.
