The Bunessan show has finished and I have seen enough rain to last a lifetime. There was morae than enough rain for Scot standards. I will hopefully upload photos when I get a hold of Dots camera. I did not bring mine because of the rain.
So the cheese scones. I do not understand the mind of the scone judge. The top three scones were the smallest least cheesiest looking of the bunch. The judges cut the scones in half for a visual inspection. I thought the best way to check for cheese is to taste it. I did not place in the the top three, not that I was expecting to. I am just confused with the judging. On top of that the chocolate sponge cake received the same treatment. A slice was cut out for a visual inspection. It is a shame that the judges could not enjoy the savoury taste of chocolate sponge cake.
Dinner time. More to come.
Okay, now I am back. Now that I have had time to sleep on the Bunessan Show results I am still perplexed that the judges would not sample the chocolate sponge cake. So onto the photos. I think the right photo won for the reflection category. It was a wonderful picture. The second place for reflection category was a sunset. A regular looking sunset photo. It was in a dusty picture frame so I think it has been hanging on a wall for a bit and taken down for the contest. I had a picture that placed third. Woo hoo. I finally won! The top three pictures in the rural life category shocked me. I did not think they had a chance but they did. I wished I had my camera to show the evidence, but it was left back at Camas because of the intense rain.
It’s bedtime. Our first week with kids has begun. I’m tired and it is bedtime. Last night was a late night. there was a ceiledh at Bunessan and we did not get back until 1 AM. Self-torture I know. It would be a shame to pass up on a ceiledh in Scotland though. Here is the third place picture.
