Part of the excitement of attending a tournament is looking at the armies. There are a lot of fantastic painters out there and an event draws them out. On Saturday everyone had their armies out on display before the games began. I admired but unfortunately did so without the camera. I had to play catch-up for the rest of the weekend. Some armies were left on display between games and others I had to take pictures of during a game. Sadly I was not able to take pictures of everyone’s work. I also forgot to take a picture of my army on display so I took a picture of my list at home.
I think the only army that wasn’t represented was Chaos Space Marines. Chaos Space Marines may have shown up but I don’t recall seeing them. There was one Adeptas Sororitas player who allied in Blood Angels and maybe Space Marines. There was one Tyranid player and he was a no show on day two. I can’t recall seeing a Flyrant on the table. It will be nice to see more Tyranids out to play (mine included). Eldar dominated the top of the standings and I am certain every single Eldar player had a Wraithknight. The solo Cult Mechanicus player took top general. There were two Imperial Knights that made it out to the show. There were three Ork players and one brought a Stompa. I apologize for the quality of photos. I have dusted the DSLR off so it will take some time to get used to working with it again. Next time I will be sure to take photos sooner. Sorry to everyone whose army I missed.
Finalists for best presentation:
Arthur and his Eldar with allied Space Marines.
Steve Lind and Eldar. Steve is a fantastic painter. It is expected that he will place top three for presentation. Don’t be surprised to see him top three for sportsmanship as well. Hat tip to Steve. He played Eldar in tournaments back in fourth and fifth edition so he has stayed with them through the good times and bad.
Orks with some local sentimental value. They were painted to the style of the Edmonton Oilers.
Yeah!
Drum roll please…
Hey, that’s not 40K. My friend Keith was playing in the Age of Sigmar event so I popped over to his table. He was playing an Orcs and Goblins army and I fell in love with this model. It is tough to paint white and it was pulled off with spades. It drew me in and I couldn’t stop admiring it.
Okay, the winner is…
YEAH! Thanks to everyone who voted for me. It is an honour to receive the award because it based on the opinion of my peers. It’s nice to see all the time and hard work pay off. For a close up on all my models be sure to check out the Space Marines: Carcharodons category.
Next time I hope to have my tau display board ready. I was the blue black army with the tanks.

A display board can go a long way. This was my first event with a display board. It helps the army look better and it also easier to move models between games.

Thanks. There were some nice armies. It was a shame I dropped the ball on taking photos at the beginning. For some reason I thought they would all be on display at lunch but I was wrong about that.

Thanks. And there will be lots more Carcharodons to come. They are the army I am working on for the Nemesis painting challenge. The goal is to have 1850 points painted in six months. I have some tanks I desperately need to add to this army. I should be adding those in about three months time.
