GW West Edmonton is celebrating its second birthday in its new location and is throwing a party. Sadly I working nights so I will miss the festivities. I will be able to participate in the painting contest since my models will do all the work while I sleep.
Here is a list of the categories:
Warhammer 40,000
- Single model
- Vehicle or Monster
Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar
- Single model
- Monster
Lord of the Rings/Hobbit
- Single model or Monster
Forgeworld
- Any single Forgeworld model
Staff
- Any single model
Staff will be judging all categories except the staff category. Members of the general public will be voting on the staff category. I plan on entering four categories. Hector Rex, as seen above, will be my Forgeworld entry. The Space Marine Librarian in Terminator Armour will be the 40K single model entry. The Adeptas Sororitas Exorcist will be my 40K Vehicle entry. The Watcher in the Water from the Lord of the Rings will represent as well.
I was going to drop the models off before my night shift but I had a mishap along the way. I was leaving the house and the screen door closed a bit quicker than anticipated. Hector Rex and the Librarian were both knocked off the box and hit the concrete. I am fortunate of the damage that was sustained. Half of the paint on Hector’s sword chipped off. The Librarian popped off the base and the axe popped off the shaft. It could have been a lot worse. When I get home from work I will conduct the necessary surgery and repaint. I really want to enter these models. I am proud of them and I want some of my best work to represent. I am very fortunate that the Exorcist didn’t fall. I’ve had two of those models knocked off the table before and they do not survive a fall too well.
I hope to be able to take pictures of most of the entries. It all depends on how late I sleep.
