Well it’s WIP month here at the Roost. The Shrine of Aquila will not be enough for my Armies on Parade display. I plan on including the Honoured Imperium Statue to the display. Here’s what I have done so far.
I started with a base layer of Tin Bitz. Then I bought Retributor Armour and painted that over. That paint is a godsend. Then I painted a layer of Burnished Gold. The base is Mechanicus Standard Grey. I am undecided as to what shade, wash or glaze I want to use on the gold. I’ll finish the Shrine of Aquila first and hopefully I have an idea what colour I want to go with for the statue.
Enjoy
Browns and sepias work good with the gold to shade it, then you can use some silvers for highlights.

Good call. I have both. I’ll try it out. All my gold highlights have been a mix of gold and silver so I’ll do the same with the statue. The silver does a great job of cooling the gold down.
