Our first day has begun. We experienced our first night at Camas and it was without any lights. We rely on lanterns and candles to be able to see during the evening. We will have fourteen weeks of this. What a great way to save on electric bills. We have no group coming to Camas this week. It is a time for us new volunteers to become accustomed to the camp as well as to the various tasks we will be responsible for.

Hello all,
Mrs. Turkadactyl and I have now arrived at Camas. We have been here for about 5 hours now. I hope to fill you in on our vacation in Scotland. It will take some time to highlight the trip so far so be sure to check in. I now have more internet accessibility. I hope to keep the Roost updated on a regular basis. Mrs. Turkadactyl is excited to be here. It is more than she hoped it to be. I have taken lots of photos. After I have caught up with my writing I will upload some photos. Now I have to go. much to tell. Please stay in touch.

Scotland is very green. That is because it rains a lot. Michelle and I have lucked out with some of our hikes. The sun has shined at the right time. We have also had a lot of rain, wind and cold. Hopefully summer arrives soon. Our holiday time is almost come to an end. We’re in Aviemore tonight, Edinburgh tommorrow, then Oban Friday and then Camas for 14 weeks. Lots more updates to come. This is the first time we have had internet access. I have a Nessie shirt in my sights. John, you would love driving here. I feel like a race driver the roads are windy and I have to drive like a maniac to survive. Plus there are one lane roads here. That is only one lane to serve both ways of traffic. Michelle has video footage. Hopefully we can upload it. I hope to get some photos up soon. All is well. It took a couple of days to adjust to the time change. It is good to hear that Ian is getting better. That is all I have for now. I have two minutes left on my countdown. yuck, someone farted by my station and walked away- hit and run. Oh yeah, Captain Candy paid us a visit in the Edmonton International. I also saw the strawberry flavoured mini-wheats commercial before boarding the plane.

Hello, my name is Alexander, or Turkadactyl if you prefer and this is my Roost. The origins of Turkadactyl comes from Tyson and I discussing a very important matter- who will be the ultimate animal kingdom fighter if we combined two animals together. Our research concluded with two finalists: the vicious combination of the penguin and gorilla for the ultimate Pengwilla and the merger of the turkey and pteradactyl for the legendary Turkadactyl. Now begins the tale of Turkadactyl.
