The WIP factory keeps on pumping out models. The next batch is the Corpuscarii and Fulgurite Electro-Priests. These models are similar so I decided to work on them together with the assembly line process. These models are some of my favourites for the Mechanicus line. They look intimidating and are quite unique looking in the 40K line of models.
I started off with the robes. I painted the base with XV-88 and applied Agrax Earthshade. I was stuck in the moment and dived right into using Averland Sunset instead of taking pictures. For the skin I used Celestra Grey for the base and then applied Gulliman Blue. For those of you who are regulars here know that this is the exact same process I used for the Tree Revenants.
Averland Sunset is a base colour but I needed to paint two coats on.
When I assembled these models I saw some similarities between the Sylvaneth Tree Revenants and the Electro-Priests. While the Revenants have a spectral look to them the Priests are powered by, well, electricity. Too bad it wasn’t Powersauce bars…
The next step I painted the electrodes Regal Blue. Then I highlighted with Baharroth Blue. I painted white for a final highlight but didn’t like it so I went over the white with Baharroth Blue. The two models above and below show the two steps.
Next I painted Ulthuan Grey being sure to keep the detail with the muscles and body contours. These guys did not skip out on abs day at the gym. Gym, what’s a gym…
I used Pallid Wych Flesh for a highlight on the flesh.
I went ahead with one model and painted the rest of the base colours to get an impression of what the finish product will be close to looking like.
The red cog is Scab Red. The gold is Retributor Armour. The skulls are Rakarth Flesh. I used Leadbelcher for the metal and Xerxes Purple for the cables. The belt, boots, gloves and loincloth are black.
That’s it for now. I have a bit more work to do on these models. The most time-consuming parts are the flesh and robes. The flesh is complete and the robes just need to be highlighted now. Just a few more hours and I’ll have two more units ready to be based for Inner Circle. By the way I was making Simpsons references in the article in case you were wondering while I trailed above a couple of times. For some reason I can’t embed YouTube links.
I’ve included a picture of me standing in the Borg tube at Seattle Museum of Pop Culture Star Trek exhibit. I was in Seattle a week and a half ago to watch Radiohead and enjoying some of the local exhibits. I’m listening to Star Trek Deep Space Nine episodes while I’m painting right now.
If you have any feedback please let me know. Thanks for reading.

The bracelets were interesting to put together. Very delicate.

Great stuff, nice skin effects, those abs are through those pads and electric passing through the muscles, lol

These have been my favourite Mechanicus models to paint so far.
