#Squaduary is coming to a close and it is time to showcase some finished units. I’ll start off with the Tree Revenants. These models proved to be a little tricky at the start. I was trying to figure out colours and what would work. They were getting me worked up and after some sound advice I was able to find a good balance. Game wise these lads are super fragile. They get picked on really quick and they don’t have the durability to last. They have to be the ones to get the jump on the opponent. I’ve only been running them as a squad of five so doubling up to ten will make a big difference I hope.
The flesh took a surprisingly long time to paint. There is a lot of details in the flesh that gets revealed after the glaze is applied. These lads certainly haven’t skipped out on the curls or abs day at the gym. Regardless of them being super squishy on the table top they are cool looking models and that in itself is enough reason to take them.
The choice to go with the glaive over the swords was a no brainer. Both weapons have the same stat line with the exception of the glaive causing two wounds to the swords one. The Scion has a sword because he gets a bonus two attacks if armed with a sword.
Now there is no way a Sylvaneth is going to handcraft a waypipe from wood. That would seem wrong now wouldn’t it? This fine fellow is tooting his horn on some artisaned (is that even a word?) gold. This model allows the unit once per game to relocate to any board edge or Sylvaneth wyldwood. Oh yeah, the model looks cool.
The WIP post I had a few colours on the banner. I wanted to see what colour I liked with the pink the best. In the end I settled on purple. It complements the pink well and fits the theme of my army. The banner allows a six-inch pile in rather than the standard three inches. Now that is ninja dust for you.
These two models round out the unit. For the hair I dry brushed Changeling Pink over top of white and followed that up with a white highlight. It’s a subtle pink that helps support the cherry blossoms.
I’ve left the gems on the bellies for now. I’m not quite sure if I want to change them or not. For now it works so I’ll leave it as is. The Kurnoth Hunters are complete as well and I will showcase them next. I’ve been plugging away at some Spite Revenants. I should be able to finish them tonight. I’ll feature them soon enough.
If you collect Age of Sigmar and want to showcase your army please drop me an e-mail. I would love to showcase your work. My e-mail can be found on the sidebar.
A big shout out to Rory for starting this challenge and for keeping track of everyone’s progress. If you haven’t already done so check out his site, Stepping Between Games. He was one of the first followers and commenters here at the Roost. He’s stayed loyal to Chaos Space Marines thorugh thick and thin so that shows his level of commitment and love for the hobby.
Thanks for reading.
