The wonderful thing about 40K is there are a lot of different avenues to enjoy the hobby. One can collect, sculpt, kit bash, write, paint, photography and, oh yeah, we can play games. It’s a rich hobby that encompasses a lot of various talents. I enjoy the painting and playing (not to mention writing). I do not enjoy the model assembly too much. I’m glad it’s the first step and get it over and done with. Some hobbyists see a great opportunity to kit bash the Crusader model. GW releases two models and I am more than happy to paint those two than kit bash my own. I realize it looks a wee bit dull on the table top.
I run Crusaders in tandem with Death Cult Assassins. The Assassins are super fragile. Crusaders and their 3 plus invulnerable save are there to absorb the fire and with a little luck I roll more dice north of 3. Crusaders are only strength and toughness three with one attack each. They don’t hit hard. All I ask is that enough of them make their saves to allow the Assassins to make it into combat.
Here are the two models I painted when the Crusader was released in third edition with the Witch Hunter codex. I like posting these as an encouragement to anyone who is discouraged with their painting skills. Keep at it. Practice makes perfect.
If you have an Adepta Sororitas army or know someone who does let me know at turkadactyl@yahoo.ca. I’d love to showcase your army.
Real shame there isn’t more variations of those models available. Nice paint jobs on them though.

It is a shame. Time to catch a genie and wish for plastic sisters.

I’m definitely more in the build and convert camp than the paint one. Great paint jobs as always.

You definitely enjoy conversions more than I do and those posts are a treat.
