After a few months break from Tim the Enchanter I decided it was time to finish the project. The large Tyranid models take a long time to paint and I was growing impatient so I turned my attention to the Spawn of Cryptus from the Shield of Baal Deathstorm set.
The first step is painting scorched brown for the skin. I then apply a mix of brown and black ink over the skin. Sadly I didn’t have a camera available until I painted most of the model so there will not be too many in between shots.
The carapace is all finished up to now. Bestial Brown for the base layer, then Vermin Brown, then Snakebite Leather followed up with Bubonic Brown. I will be highlighting the skin and afterwards apply the sand and flock. The Spawn of Cryptus will probably make an appearance with my Tyranids vs Blood Angels game with Will this Saturday.
On a completely different note I am participating in Movember. It is a fundraiser that I have participated in six years now. I know someone who is affected with prostate cancer and it is brutal. It is a worldwide fundraiser so I encourage you to participate and/or support the cause.
