Space Marines Carcharodons- Thunderhammer Terminators

I really enjoy playing with Terminators.  Some games these five thunderhammer and stormshield Terminators absorb more punishment than they should.  Other games they should have stayed in bed and dreamed of numbers other than one.  All in all this squad has performed reasonably well.

The Veteran Sergeant is wearing the Tartaros pattern suit to distinguish from the other models.  The Veteran Sergeants in all my squads When I was assembling the models I attempted to filed down the Terminator crux symbol from the should pad.  I wasn’t satisfied with my end product so I bits ordered the plain shoulder pads.  Imperial Armour noted that Terminators do not bear the mark of the Terminator crux.  Space Wolves Terminator heads were used because they have gill like vents.  I also drilled holes to apply rivets that you see on the one model.  Carcharodons are noted to augment their suits as well as have armour that span from various ages.

Vacation time starts tomorrow so I’ll be back at the Roost sometime at the end of the month.

  1. I always enjoy reading your Carcharodon posts. I too ordered the SW heads that came with gill-like vents, and blank shoulders to match the crux-less art shown in IA10.

What really annoys me though is that I tried to make a set of TH/SS guys using Will Hayes’ colors where his black Storm Shields had a white center inlay with gold trim, but I was very disappointed in the end result and ended up scrapping these guys to re-do later. But since then, I’ve done so much LC related stuff that I just can’t wrap my head around a TH/SS project.

But I think you nailed it, they look very Carcharodon-y and the Storm Shields fit nicely and blend in, unlike mine which stood out a bit too much with the white. I think I may use your scheme of black inlay and gold trim, but perhaps with black edges too. I’m also still waiting for the Tartaros Storm Shield to be available for purchase separately on eBay. It’s a lovely alternative shield.

    • Thanks for the compliment. Do you have a site to post pictures of your models? I enjoy looking at other hobbyists interpretation of The Carcharodons. There is the Badab Project as well. I am thinking of sending The Roosts info to be included.

If you don’t have a site and have no desire to start one up send me some photos. I can load them up on The Roost.

    • Thanks. The bases are the Tech Outpost from Fantascape. There is a link in the blogroll. I am a big fan of the Fantascape’s workmanship. Check out the Hector Rex posting for the Gothic Ruins line.
