We have a small group from London this week. Six of the campers are teens, six are adults. One guy, I discovered, likes to sing as we do dishes. (We call dish washing time here at camas a ‘kitchen disco’ as there is mush singing and attempted dancing.) We’ve been singing Uptown Girl and driving everyone crazy…except us. We did a lot of ‘da da da da’ as we didn’t remember all of the words, but the problem was solved when we posted them above the sink. I don’t think it helped in our popularity though, with the rest of the group.
The teens are wonderful. They have a great sense of humour. There are three males and three females. I have called two of the males princess, much to the amusement of the young ladies. These two fellows start to whine a lot if they have to carry something for over two minutes, hence the princess moniker. Despite the whining I am still having fun with them. Jemal is teaching me how to put a lure on a fishing line. Thankfully he knows what he is doing. We also had an opportunity to take them to a ceilidh last night. The teens were not to thrilled about it except for one girl who seemed to enjoy herself.
