So it appears that I have done a bit of binge posting over the last 24 hours. This is my fifth posting. Yesterday was a full day off and I have a half day off today. This week has been a labour intensive week. It is new members week. People who are applying to be part of the Iona community go through a lengthy process of becoming members. Part of the process is coming to Camas and we put them to work, as well as ourselves. I have walked a few miles collecting poop and wood.
Next week the kids start to arrive. I am looking forward to that since it is the primary reason to why we are here. I went to Oban yesterday to watch the Dark Knight. Fantastic movie and it is a trip that I will not be making every week. It takes about two hours to get to Oban by bus and ferry. There is also a bombardment of modern culture as well. Advertisements everywhere. Also images. The British are far more liberal when it comes to print media. The women on the covers of mens interest magazines have far less clothing. It is a shame that we allow ourselves to become bombarded by those types of images.
Tommorrow is the Bunessan show. Michelle and I will be entering some photographs and I have done a bit of practicing for the cheese scone category. I don’t stand a chance in the cheese scone category. Competition for photography will be fierce. I feeling good about our entries. If we don’t win then I have a great chance to learn more about photography.
Here are our entries:
