Old Stuff Day is wrapping up so I sneaking this in before the day closes. This special day was started over at Warhammer 39,999 a few years back. We bloggers post our wares and within a few days our posts fade into obscurity. Old Stuff Day is a way to bring past post back into the light of their former glory. Okay, I’m exaggerating former glory a wee bit. I want to highlight a couple of my posts as well as give out to another bloggers post that has given me some inspiration.
I have upgraded my camera and plan on going over all my old posts to update the photos. The only archived post that I have any updated photos for is Hector Rex so conveniently Mr. Rex will be my subject for Old Stuff Day. This post was published July 4, 2015. I couldn’t resist the pull of purchasing Hector Rex when the model was released by Forgeworld. It was a gem to paint and I was pleased with the end result. This was also the most red I have painted on one model so it was good to expand my painting skills.
My second post involves a life lesson. Dave at Confessions of 1 40K Addict posted a 40K life hack 40K life hack when using shades. It’s a quick post and I recommend checking it out. I should have heeded his advice because a few days later I did exactly what he warned about. I mention it briefly in my Aquila Strongpoint WIP.
Just a short post for Old Stuff day. Thanks for reading.
Awesome stuff, love that model and some great basing there too!

I’m a big fan of the base. It suits Rex. I bought it from Fantascape, who is now defunct. What a shame. I would have stocked up if I knew they were closing shop. 95% of my Carcharodon bases are from Fantascape as well.
