LotR – Witch King on Fell Beast WIP June 28

With the Watcher in the Water all finished let’s see how the progress with the Witch King on Fell Beast is going.

Witch King 009

The Fell Beast had two layers of highlights.  I mixed Abaddon Black with Mechanicus Standard Grey for the first highlight.  I then added more Mechanius Standard Grey for the second highlight.  I went with straight Mechanicus Standard Grey for the tips of the talons and “fins” on the back.

I have a few pots of the old line Midnight Blue, which I used on the Witch King.  I know the character should be inblack robes.  I wanted the contrast between the rider from the mount, therefore I went with the blue.  Highlights involved mixing Midnight Blue with Regal Blue, then Regal Blue on its own.  I then mixed Regal Blue with Enchanted Blue.  After I took these photos I used Enchanted Blue on its own for the last highlight.

Witch King 008

I changed some of the colours on the Riders of Rohan casualties.  I wasn’t satisfied with the colours that I originally used.

Witch King 011

Witch King 012

Next Witch King WIP will be Rohan highlights and Fell Beast armour highlights.
