When I first started getting into Warhammer 40K I was stubborn that I would never play Space Marines. At the local group Grey Knights were not considered Space Marines, contrary to the fact that they are. I’ve stopped kidding myself with that lie. Then Forgeworld released the Badab War and my stubbornness was melted away.
Tyranids were my gateway into Forgeworld. Space Marines took the appreciation for Forgeworld even further. The Badab War was a great read and with all the new models being released I decided it was time to realize, I like Space Marines. It was the Carcharodons and Minotaurs chapters that I was drawn to. I loved the Astral Claws clolurs and had plans to do a Black Templars successor with Astral Claws colours. To many aspirations, not enough space, time and money. So I had to choose.
In the end I went with Carcharodons and I wanted to do it right. A chapter that is tasked with patrolling the void of space. A chapter that is known to scavenge through the spoils of war. I like the mystery and elusiveness behind the chapter.
Tyberos is a fantastic model as well as the Honour guard. I loaded up on the different Mk armour and decals and painted up 2000 points for Games Workshop West Edmonton’s first Nemesis painting challenge in 2013-14. I have enjoyed painting these models and win or lose enjoy playing with the Carcharodons. This is a Forgeworld heavy army. This chapter doesn’t have the benefit of having a home world so they have to make do with what they have and what they can pillage. Makes for a fantastic background and thematic playing.
Stay tuned for more Grey Knights, Carcharodons, WIP: Time the Dimachaeron and WIP: Cities of Death. Enjoy.
