The Roost of Turkadactyl

I really like the Death Leaper model.  It looks like it has a mission and the means to carry it out.  The next step is Games Workshop writing rules to make this model more terrifying.  I use this model frequently because it looks cool on the table top.  It dies in 99% of my games and hardly does any damage.  I find it never hits hard enough and dies super easy.  That’s okay.  It’s still a cool looking  model.

I had fun with this Photoshop.  Since Death Leaper is secretive I wanted to go with a captured on infrared look.  That’s a mug shot I wouldn’t want captured on my security cameras.  I really hope Games Workshop does this model justice with the next codex.  Just about every game I play my opponent is concerned about Death Leaper wreaking havoc.  That could be further from the truth.  Lictors need to be terrifying again.  Guardsmen pissing their pants terrifying.

I had a comical moment with a game against Nik and his Cult Mechanicus a while back.  The Death Leaper charged some Kataphron Breachers and actually killed two in combat.  That was a pleasant surprise because my Leaper is usually not that efficient.  Picture the wack-a-mole game.  Death Leaper pops up from the hole and the surviving Breacher pops the Leaper on the head with its mallet.  I had me one insta-killed Death Leaper.
