Now that the LotR models are painted it is time to turn my attention back to Tim the Dimachaeron. I chose to paint Tim in sections so it seems like I am progressing. For the carapace I chose to start with the legs.
My base colour for the carapace is Bestial Brown. I have to put on two layers so the black primer does not show through. The first highlight is Vermin Brow, followed by Snakebite Leather. These two highlights are subtle and not too noticeable unless you get close. The final highlight is Bubonic Brown. It is a nice contrast to the rest of the model and fits with the colour scheme very well.
Since the first two highlights are subtle the bigger models feel as though I am not progressing while I paint them. I find that painting the big models in sections helps motivate be because I can see the progress. I am a looking forward to seeing Tim in its full painted glory.
On a different note I just bought the Dawn of War II expansions on Steam. Look up Turkadactyl on Steam if you want to play. I don’t game too often so I’m not all that good.
Enjoy
Nice! This is one heck of an intimidating model. Taking it piece by piece will give you an awesome finish!
