Austria- I Bought The Wrong Banana (Photo Update January 12)

The title to this post is inspired from here. One thing I am still not used to are all the shops being closed on a Sunday. Mrs. Turkadactyl and I are taking the sleeper train the Amsterdam tonight and were going to buy some groceries for the train. All the supermarkets are closed. We came across a stand that was selling fruit and we purchased the fruit. Probably the biggest fruit purchased mistake that we will ever make. The prices must have been jacked up since no other stores are open. Anyways, next time we will go without fruit. I bought the wrong banana. At least I get to link a catchy song to my Roost.

We will be returning to Canada soon. Tuesday in fact. We may get a chance to surf the internet in Amsterdam but just in case we do not we will see you soon (the Shraptors do not have internet access). I hope to put up a top ten list for Camas and top ten for our trip.

For our two fans (Doug, you’re in Detroit so it will be hard for you to greet us) we will be on flight AC 0157, arriving in Edmonton on December 10 at 8:18 PM MST. I look forward to seeing some moustaches. Oh yeah, here is a random fact. I think Rome is the make-out capital of the world. It seemed as though there was a couple making out at every street corner. I didn’t see any sign-up sheets.

Photo evidence of making out. Seems like a harmless photo of Mrs. Turkadactyl on the steps right? Wrong. Look at the top. Making out. That was going on all over the place. That only leads to babies kids.

  1. Alex,

I will be greeting you in spirit from Detroit. In terms of moustaches, I have not shaved (at all) since I met you over two months ago. I have already scared my family and am beginning to scare myself…so don’t do anything to scare yourself.

Safe travels back to Canada. If you need a couple of photos of you chasing a football in the sea at Camas, I’ll be glad to email them over.

I’ve enjoyed your travel stories and Camas time immensely. Hope you’ll keep posting.

Can you believe you’ll soon be able to once again hear the wisdom of Don Cherry?

    Peace,
    Doug

  2. Sure, send some photos my wy. My e-mail is alexandmichelle@hotmail.com. I have had fun with this site. I will have to think of something fresh to do with it when I return home. I will be updating it with pictures from the last month so be sure to check in after the 10th.

Aww, Don Cherry, how I miss his fashion sense. The way the Oil are playing, however, I don’t think I am missing them too much.

  3. I am silly. I left the internet cafe last night and realized I did not put the date of our arrival. I have updated our arrival information.

We are in Amsterdam now. There are a lot of bicyles here. They have their own lanes. I think there are more bicycles then cars on the road. A lot of people smoke marijuana here. For some strange reason I feel very happy right now… yeah, happy.

No animal shirt sightings yet. I’ll keep looking and try to avoid the red light district.

  4. Hey! The red light district is not too bad … don’t feel like you have to avoid it. That area of town has other interesting things too! Enjoy the last leg of your journey and see you when you get back!
